The USAID Health Care Improvement Project (HCI) joined Nicaragua government agencies and other USAID-supported projects, including PRONICASS, DELIVER, and FAMISALUD, to support a community information fair on HIV/AIDS in the city of Chinandega on December 1, 2009. Located in western Nicaragua, Chinandega has the second highest number of HIV-infected persons after Nicaragua’s capital, Managua. During the fair, HCI HIV/AIDS advisors staffed a booth and offered advice and educational materials to target audiences, including youth and adolescents, members of the National Police and Armed Forces, health care providers, and community health workers.
